Hotel Marketing

Many facets are involved in hotel marketing. The most important part of promoting your hotel is getting the name before the public. There are some effective ways to do this. One of the most effective is a good website. The website needs to be registered with the search engines and directories. You also need to get as many quality links to your website as possible. Promoting the website with off-line marketing and good customer relations is also important to the success of your hotel. On line, advertising is just as important and can be effective with pay per click advertising. Many sites use this function and can drive traffic to your web site and you can keep them there with a constantly changing and attractive site.

What is a good quality link to your website? Links are like maps, they take you from one website and then to another that is similar to yours, or has a business in the same vicinity or town. It's also good to pick a high quality link that is already ranked high in the search engines. Online hotel marketing can be linked to restaurants, activities, and scenic attractions in the area. Some other helpful hints for your website are; have good, useful content about your hotel and the area it's located in. Are there any featured historic artifacts of scenes of interest in your area? So if your hotel is located in San Diego, for example, tell of the San Diego attractions to give them a reason to stay at your hotel. In our area, a possible draw would be we have several historical sites directly linked to our 16th President, Abe Lincoln. This is important to share with someone who is looking for historical sightseeing.

Off-line hotel marketing can be effective as well. Local events may be producing booklets or brochures that will encourage visitors to your hotel. Any brochures that promote the area or events going on in the area need to have your hotel listed. Items included in that listing should be your address, general e-mail address and a link to your website where a potential customer can look at the facilities and even book reservations on line.
