Golf Marketing

Golf marketing is an important part of owning and managing a successful golf course. Times have changed, there new golf courses springing up all over the country. New ones are being planned every year. Can your course keep up with the new competition? A few years ago, a golf course owner wouldn't have thought he needed golf marketing to keep his business going and his clientele happy. Through marketing, advertising, public relations, and other important strategies a golf course can be competitive with the new ones springing up around them.

In today's world, you can't depend on your customers who have always played at your course to stay with you. The demand for something new, better and different is alluring to many older golfers and many younger players won't settle for what their fathers and grandfathers had. Now, more than ever golf marketing has to be the focus of golf course owners and managers.

There are many different ways to make your golf course a success or keep it that way if it already is. Golf marketing can include media days to showcase your course and introduce it to various medias from around your area. You can focus on community related golf events to help raise money for local charities. Keep the media updated on personnel changes, golf updates, new products, and upcoming events. Did you make a change in your course? That's always good for a write up in your local paper as well.

Hotel lobbies are a great place to keep brochures with pictures and facts about your golf course. It's important that if you leave brochures that all the information is included. You will want the guests to know where the course is located, what type of transportation they'll need to get there and what the fees are.

One more item of interest is for your course to get reviews in the Golf magazines. Often you will need a company that deals directly with golf athletes to help you get these endorsements. Local players in the area can also help you with reviews in your local paper and added in to your brochures.
